Interdependence Day 2 – an #improv #poem

Some people just don't
Get interdependence.

The one person who could
Keep the earth from spinning
Into an inferno is an infant.

Now, imagine that one of her parents
Has died in a terrible persecution
In her land of origin.
There is no way for them
To survive here, so
Her other parent must take
Them to safety.

One about which stories
Abound regarding its
Abundance, freedom, and

Apparently, those stories are
No longer true.
For when she gets there, her
Parent is ripped away.

She is flung into a large hall with
Dozens of other babies and children,
Far away from her parent
And lost in the mass.
interdependenceHer destiny is in question
And with it the fate of humanity.

Some people just don't
Get interdependence.
