Clouds and More from the Finger Lakes

In a time of war, I seek peace.

In a time of deadlines, I turn to beauty.

Clouds

My sister and I continue to share cloud photos with each other several times a week. Here are a few that I captured in the Finger Lakes region of central New York state.

No matter how many times I see the sunrise, it continues to be breathtaking. This one invited my dog and me into a new day.

The sun is rising behind heavy cloud cover. Some of the clouds seem to be speckled and closer to us.

Sunrise, Sunset

Sometimes, even a dirty windshield is not enough to hide the majesty of the sky at sunset.

Orange clouds above a highway through the windshield of an automobile.

Each day is what we make of it.

Yes, we have lakes in the Finger Lakes. This is Seneca.

Woodlands and Waterfalls

If you’ve seen more than one of my music videos, you probably know how much I love waterfalls. This region is rich with them. My favorite is Taughannock.

A tall waterfall surrounded by lush green trees.
In the foreground are trees with green and brown leaves. Beyond these is a river connecting to a lake and the sun behind clouds.
Beyond trees and railing is a tall waterfall coming down a rock wall.

And Music History

This photo is not about the clouds. It’s to let you know that I live near where the Moog synthesizer was developed.

A blue sign with yellow writing:
"R.A. MOOG COMPANY
At this site in 1964, innovator Robert Moog developed and produced the first commercial modular synthesizer, changing the course of music history.
PEOPLE OF TRUMANSBURG 2016"

Beauty

Back to those clouds. Sometimes they are wispy and pink.

Fluffy pink and grey clouds hover above a silhouetted tree line.

Other times they seem solid and bright.

The sunrise seems to paint the clouds golden and bright shades of red behind a silhouetted tree line.

Thanks for dropping by. Please ignore the fact that this beautiful post was the result of me missing a deadline…
