Blue sky #blues – or how to embrace changes

Surprise, surprise: from gray to blue happened again.

Wouldn’t you know it…

A blue, cloud-free sky with the sun rising on the horizon. A leafless tree is off to the left.

Wouldn’t you know it: the day after I shared a web-story and blog post about gray skies, we had a morning with a clear sky. Of course, the story wasn’t just about gray clouds. I told in that story about how we can be inspired as much (or more) by cloudy skies compared with the blues.

I thought (to myself)…

A blue, cloud-free sky with the sun rising on the horizon.

I thought to myself, “Isn’t this funny? Here I am doing the same things I did yesterday even though yesterday was gray and today is not.” Waking up. Making the coffee. Checking email.

A profound punctuation…

A blue, cloud-free sky with the sun rising on the horizon behind a tree line.

This is a profound punctuation to the gray sky story. Maybe blue skies make less difference than I had ever imagined.

Truly, when the sky was 100% cloud-free, I missed the clouds! Gray isn’t so bad after all.

All the usual suspects

RB — the pup — and I went for an early walk. From what I can tell, she ignored the vibrant, clear sky. Instead, she was focused (as always) on the deer in the field and squirrels in the trees.

A brown dog looks out into a field. Beyond her is a line of trees with the sun rising behind them.

The one constant is blue change

By evening, the sky was cloudy again. Look what a beautiful sunset those clouds helped to make!

A cloudy sunset behind a tree line.
