Maybe it’s an instinct
That rises from shame.
Maybe it’s a cradle
That rocks me to tame
My pretty paranoia
That would free me from pain.
I don’t try to distress you
I’ve got nothing to gain.

Open all the windows:
They block out the sun.
Sometimes my distractions
Are just me having fun.
Attribution, retribution,
Call it what you will.
I only know that
Of this stuff I’ve had my fill.

Dance this
When your heart is aflame.
Dance this
When you’re feeling insane.
Dance this
When there’s nothing to do
For everything you need is alive in you.

Gotta get my house in order;
That’s an order I(‘ve) got
At the bottom of a long list
That may just sit and rot.
Get my shit together?
Believe that I try
To mystify the Mystics
Make all the virgins cry.

It’s clear that there’s been
Enough of all this suffering.
People hurt each other.
(Take another Bufferin.)
Whatever comes up
I’ll write another song
Because I care so much,
Want us to get along.

Dance this
When your heart is aflame.
Dance this
When you’re feeling insane.
Dance this
When there’s nothing to do
For everything you need is alive in you.

My heart goes out
To each person that I see.
What if their trouble
Was here troubling me?
I don’t have all the answers.
But the questions? A few
That haunt my own existence.
Are they haunting you, too?

Practice all your potions.
Make elixirs that work.
Much better than practices
Causing others hurt.
I said to open windows,
That wasn’t what I meant:
Tear down all the walls.
Build up beauty, heaven sent.

Dance this
When your heart is aflame.
Dance this
When you’re feeling insane.
Dance this
When there’s nothing to do
For everything you need is alive in you.

Yes, this is the last song for the “Dream This” album! However, this is not the version that will be on that album. This is a live rendition. If you hear any merit in this version, I think you’re really going to love the studio/album track!
