Solopreneurs - choosing your web presence

This is not an in depth look. Just hoping to get the conversation started. As a solopreneur, should you have your own website? Or is your Facebook (or other social network) page good enough? If I am plugging my own brand, how complete is a blogging site (Medium, SubStack, etc.) for my web presence?

These days, does a solopreneur really need their own website? Seems like Facebook (or another social network), Medium, Substack, or Wix should be enough. Or maybe not…

I have a WordPress website, I like it and I link it to my blog, I can put it on my cv because people only want a one page cv now so if I can catch their attention with that they can read more on my website.

I feel you often get what you pay for when you go the “free” or cheap route for those.
Building a business network, trust, etc. takes a consistent effort & investment(s).
Going the cheap route will only get you so far.
