“No Manuscript” – #piano #improv for inspiration and introspection

With so many of my albums, there is a story. This is not one of those. All we have here is a failure to have a manuscript.

Gospel and Gotcha

Well, naturally I could tell you stories about each of these pieces. But I think the piano improvisations tell the story better than any words I could come up with.

Yes, that’s why there’s no manuscript. These piano pieces are spontaneous. Each one is an unedited in terms of the keys played the the timing of those touches.

Reciprocal Inspiration

Plus, what would be more interesting would be how each of these improvs makes you feel. Do you see a story in your imagination when you listen?

Improvisation is proof that you don’t always need a manuscript. I hope these also demonstrate that improv is high art.

Serious Playing

Perhaps for you, it’s about pictures or colors: do you see an image or shifting palettes when you hear music? Or do you see the manuscript in front of you?

The Fundamental Manuscript

Let the sounds of the piano take you where you need or want to go right now. And thank you for listening to “No Manuscript”.
