#Poem – “Wondering”

There’s no need to wonder if you’re pondering your life.
Every day you’re right out there with it:
You delve deep, work hard, forgive gigantically
And often.

There’s no need to wonder if you care about your friends.
You adjust schedules to ensure time with them
And quality time — each time — at that.
(I think they get how much you love them.)

There’s no need to wonder if you care for strangers.
Your dedication to the nearby downtrodden
Is legend here.

There’s no need to wonder if you care for other creatures.
You encouraged your love of the homeless
Dogs, cats, ferrets, gerbils and
Who knows what else
By encouraging this same love in your niece.

There’s no need to wonder if you love and care for me.
You do!
