Too much creativity? How is that possible? When the pipeline is full…
All Sorts
Not only is my creative pipeline full, but it’s probably far too diverse. This is not unusual for me. I seem to always have creative pursuits in a variety of directions.
This moment is no different. But it seemed like an important time for me to review what I’m up to. Or what I think I’m up to. Something’s gotta give.
Pipeline 1: The Folksong Album
You’ve been “hearing” about this album for years. Literally. After all this time, I have some instruments recorded for all of the nine songs. Talk about a pipeline.
However, only three of them are in preview. Visit my page on Mirlo to hear all 3.
But that’s not much after as many years. I am trying to determine if this is really an album or just 3 to 9 singles. As always, I’d be grateful to to hear from you about this. Reach out to me here or on social networks.
Xylophone is the New Vibe
I started to work on an all-mallets suite. One reason I started this is that SonicCouture released their new Xylophone instrument. As is nearly always true of SC, they really delivered with this instrument.
In addition to the primary samples of this beautiful mallet keyboard, there is a plethora of tweaks. The arpeggiators are among the best I’ve encountered. Hopefully, I can share this suite (the industry calls it an EP) soon.
Pipeline Schmipline
Another pipeline that’s always present for me is the eternal vibe in my brain. Since the USA invasion of Iran which ignored international and federal law, it has been stuck on a Persian beat in 5/4. Boom pah-tat pey dum dum, boom pah-tat pey dum dum.
This is not unprecidented with me. Songs in seven and in five pull at my heartstrings. This time, this inspiration is pulling me towards peace and understanding.
The Other Day Job
You know about my “other day job” from this post. This position has led to a list of new songs. These include four completely original songs and a multitude of arrangements + improvisations.
I am to the point where I want these to be recorded. The scores (music notation) is ready, so they just need a recording to back them up. This will happen.
