Dreams are about to get real. After all, “lucid” means that we’re mixing the waking mind with the subconscious.
Here is your preview of “DreamState: Lucid Dreaming“. This time, I’ve presented it in reverse order. No idea why I did that, but here you go.
Lucid
Dreams are so cool. And they are so mysterious. We never know if they are telling us about something real, metaphorical, or a mixture of the two.
In honor of these tricks played on us by dreams, the titles of the pieces on Lucid Dreaming are each a play on words. Don’t think about it too much. Some of them are quite nonsensical. Read them if you must, but it’s all about listening to the track.
Dreams
Lucidity is where dreams really get interesting. What happens when we try to intermingle conscious and dream thoughts? Do they go together at all? One thing is for sure: the fun is in the exploration.
I’ve known a few people who said they could direct their dreams after they practiced for a while. In fact, some people mean this directing of dreams when they say “lucid dreaming”. Maybe I’ll see if I can get a bossa nova into each of my dreams.
DreamState
Like dreams or poetry, this music is meant to let you decide what (or if) they mean. Again, don’t think about it too much. Just let the music take you wherever you want to go.
Like the stuff that inspired this suite, these tracks are quite varied. If I didn’t tell you there’s a theme tying them together, you might not know it.
Lucid Too
The track above is my favorite track from this suite. Which one is yours? I’d love to hear from you in the comments on this page.
Next week, I’ll let you know all the places where you can stream this album. Thanks for listening!

Is this wonderful photo yours, Stan? Congrats.
Photo (and music) by me, yes. Thanks!
