Yeah. I failed. Set out to make one singular thing and made another.
One Thing
When I started composing “singularity“, I imagined that each piece would only use one singular instrument. Well, what can I say? I’m a complicated person, so I sometimes create complicated music.
Sure enough, within a day or two, I was making excuses for why the first track and then the second one needed another sound. In the end, only one piece on this album uses a single instrument.
Win and Lose Some
Meanwhile, I also set out to make this album entirely using “patches” that I created myself. When we musicians sit down at a synthesizer or other instrument, the configuration that defines the sound is called a patch. And yes, in this case, I had determined that I would only use patches built by me.
Success! Yes. A singular achievement. In this case, I did what I set out to do. Every one of the sounds on these ten tracks was created by me. I’m actually quite proud of this, but may not do it again. It’s a lot of work.

Anyway, the album is done. As of this writing, it’s on all of the musician-based platforms. (By that, I mean the ones that claim to put musicians first and then don’t make that claim entirely unbelievable by their actions.)
I hope you’ll take a moment to listen. This album may not be for everyone, but perhaps it will appeal to you.

The complicated voice in the mind is difficult to deal with. The ego makes things complex versus the simple brilliance of the intuition. Literally, the intuition knows everything. We can listen to it peacefully and get the job done seamlessly. Difficult but do-able.
As for the platforms, I appreciate those who follow through to put creators first. Rare indeed but a few exist. Most begin with pure intentions but the Double P’s of Profits and Popularity move ownership in a different direction. I began commenting genuinely on blogs again recently based on this observation. Better to keep the power on our blogs predominantly.
