Singing Quake Outside

Quake – a lyric #poem and music video to honor the earth

Quake

lyric poem (and music) by Stan Stewart

Earth Quake

you see the drops falling
you know it’s tears and not the rain
you feel the earth sighing
but you just go on

earth shatters
earth cries
earth tatters
earth sighs

you hear your neighbor calling
you hurt to sense her bitter pain
do the right thing tell ya
do it with a friend

Loma Prieta Quake

earth shatters
earth cries
earth tatters
earth sighs

you feel a tingle
like a change in the air
something shifting you see it everywhere
take off your shoes
they’ve lost their shine
earth on bare feet feelin’ fine

Stan Stewart sings and plays Quake

laughing at stars hanging
laughter is theirs to shine on you
dance to the moon music
more of dance, less agony

earth shatters
earth cries
earth tatters
earth sighs
