When warm
(Or even temperate)
Rain raps on the roof,
It provides a reassuring
Rhythm that soothes.
When Winter-chilled rain
Taps it’s icy fingers on
Window panes,
It does not soothe nor
Reassure.

I like the way the two stanzas mirror each other in terms of sounds and diction, but the second verse’s rhythm is slightly broken up, a bit disjointed, enacting the lack of reassurance you describe. Nice one.
Thanks so much for the feedback.
Playful blessings,
Stan
They needn’t be fast to be spontaneous. Keep them coming! Like!!
Thanks, Dennis!
