In the darkness of the early morning, the dog and I greet the day. She is happy to go for a walk. (I can tell by her wagging tail.)
Typical Morning
Feed the pup, make the coffee, make sure all systems are "go", and rub the sleep from my eyes.
30 minutes to complete the first workout; follow-up email & socials; shower; and drink the first cuppa.
Get dressed and see how much time is left for the business side of music. Go! Use it wisely...
My 9-5 is actually a 7-3. So, it's time to gitterdun for the day job. My lunch hour will consist of another workout. Oh, and lunch, of course.
Shift
Occasionally, an evening will be dedicated to the composing/ recording music studio.
Most often, my family - spouse, dog, and me - is in the forefront of my evening. This quality time is so important to me.
Even when I get one of those rare "days in the recording studio", there is still a huge variety in the activities of the day.
On weekends, I do my best to add some fun and play. Hiking, going to the lake or waterfall, and romping with RB are priorities! I call this self-care...
Part of this is that I play at least one gig per weekend (and occasionally on weekdays). This has been just a taste of all that's in a working musician's life.
For those in need of love
