Please check out my other #2FollowTuesday recommendations while you’re here. I’m excited to present two more people that I think are stellar on Twitter. Both of these cool people have deep connections to music and the worlds behind the songs.
People have their own reasons for being on social networks like Twitter. Some try to get more followers, usually either as a boost to their brand or for a sense of personal satisfaction. This is why you’ll see so many sites, posts, and tweets about following back or gaining followers. Every day on Twitter, I see dozens of ads for buying followers, but clearly this is not a good idea for many reasons.
Others are quite happy with just a few friends and see no reason to follow/followback people unless they want a friendship with them. This allows for a much more relaxed presence on Twitter (or other social media) focused on dialogue, fun, and friendship. The two people I’m recommending today are focused on these things and that’s one of the many reasons I like them.
Kathy Dove is a wonderful friend to me, so I may be biased, but I think she’s one of the most genuine and positive people on Twitter. She shares great songs and uplifting messages with her friends. She also responds honestly to tweets that other people send out. Somehow, Kathy always seems to know some song that’s just right as a response to a current thread. Seriously, I can’t speak highly enough about Kathy. Please follow her and say “hello” from me.
I am repeatedly amazed at the musicians Stevie Gurr has known and performed with. In our Twitter conversations, he has shared stories from several who are not listed on his website. Stevie has deeply informed, first-hand opinions about many of the #MusicBiz posts on Twitter and can strike up a conversation about songs popular and obscure. I’m truly glad to be following Stevie and recommend that you do, too.
